The Fountaine Pajot Victoria 67 is a big catamaran from an established builder, and when it appeared it took the place of the Galathea 65 as the flagship of the FP cruising catamaran fleet. SAIL named it Best Multihull Flagship in its 2014 Best Boats program. At just under 67 feet overall with a beam a little over 31 feet, the Victoria 67 is a substantial platform that carries significant technological advances into a timeproven hull and interior.

Fountaine Pajot Victoria 67 Buyer's Guide

The Fountaine Pajot Victoria 67 is the former flagship of the builder’s cruising catamaran range, produced from 2013 through 2017 and replacing the Galathea 65. On the brokerage market it appears in both owner and ex-charter forms, and buyers should understand the layout and equipment differences before shopping.

Layouts on the Used Market

Charter four-cabin layouts are the more common on the used market, but both owner and charter versions are available, and ex-charter examples are common. The owner’s Maestro version places an enormous suite aft in one hull with a large bath, plus a forward two-single cabin in that same hull, while the other hull holds three queen-berth guest cabins each with its own head. A crewed arrangement exists with three cabins in each hull and a double crew cabin forward. The saloon flows into a cockpit with a transom sun bed and a teak table seating 10, and a forward nav station supports a second electronics suite. The flybridge—called the Fly Deck—reached by stairs on either side, carries a two-person helm offset to starboard, couches, cocktail tables, and a fridge.

Equipment and Common Upgrades

Most boats on the market carry air conditioning, a watermaker, electric winches, teak decks, autopilot, chartplotter, inverter, dinghy davits, cockpit shower, radar, AIS, bimini, and a Garmin electronics package. Often-seen additions include a furling main, freezer, washing machine, swim platform, EPIRB, and life raft. Solar is a less common owner upgrade, but when fitted the large deck arrays can make the boat electrically self-sufficient at anchor by day. For a buyer, the load-bearing clusters are power and energy—house 24-volt system with monitoring, inverter, and sometimes solar—and sail handling, where electric winches and furling gear reduce crew workload. Navigation is covered by the standard chartplotter and autopilot, with a second station in the saloon, while comfort items such as air conditioning and watermaker define liveaboard readiness.

What to Inspect

The known points from reviewed boats are mostly configuration notes: the test boat was not equipped with a staysail, so verify whether any particular listing carries one. The infused and cored hull, deck and bimini construction should be checked for typical cored-structure issues such as delamination or moisture, and the advanced distributed 24-volt power system with its central monitoring panel warrants a functional test of charging, solar, and diagnostics.

Availability and Buyer's Takeaway

These cats are typically found in the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Panama. For a shopper, the practical checklist is: confirm whether the layout is Maestro owner or charter four-cabin; test the 24-volt distributed system and solar function; verify winch and furling gear condition; check cored hull and deck for moisture; confirm Garmin electronics and second nav station operate; and assess ex-charter wear if buying a former fleet boat.
