How Listings Port Works

From a question to a shortlist to a market scan.

Most boat search tools make you already know what you want. Listings Port lets you start anywhere — with a goal, a budget, or a specific model — and walks you forward from there.

1. Describe what you're looking for

Open Research and tell Listings Port what you actually need — in the words you'd use to explain it to a friend.

"A stiff, beginner-friendly family cruiser under 35 ft that can handle a Great Lakes crossing."

We match your words against 10,000+ boat writeups and their technical DNA at the same time. You get back boats that were reviewed as good for that use — not just boats whose listings happened to repeat your keywords.

Prefer to drive yourself? Skip the prose and set the hard filters directly — length, draft, keel type, SA/D, comfort ratio, and dozens more.

2. Compare models inline

Results open in a table view with every spec visible at a glance. Toggle columns to keep only what you care about. Flip between imperial and metric. Open the expert writeup for any boat in a side panel without losing your place.

  • See the Verdict — a plain-language summary of what the model is good and bad at.
  • Check the known-issues Checklist before you spend a weekend traveling to a viewing.
  • Sort by comfort ratio, capsize screening, SA/D, or any other metric that matters for your plans.

3. Build your Collection

As you find contenders, check them off and save them to a Collection — your shortlist of models worth a closer look.

Collections live with your account, so you can leave and come back. Create one per trip ("Contenders for Mediterranean"), one per stage ("Shortlist after viewings"), or just one "Still interested." Share them with a partner or a broker when it's time to commit.

4. Scan listings for the whole Collection

From any Collection — or any single model — jump straight into the global market. Listings Port pulls current listings from YachtWorld, Boat24, Apollo Duck, Yachtr, and other major marketplaces.

  • Prices normalized to your preferred currency.
  • Locations standardized across sources — filter by country, region, or city without worrying how each site spelled it.
  • Click through directly to the original broker or seller — we don't wrap or intercept the listing.
  • Save the search and get a daily alert the moment a matching boat hits the market anywhere in the world.
