The C&C Mega 30 FK (Fixed Keel) is one of the more unorthodox entries in the storied history of C&C Yachts. Designed by Peter Barrett in 1977, the "Mega" was a bold attempt to merge the worlds of highperformance onedesign racing and trailerable family cruising. While the original design featured a retractable bulb keel to facilitate road transport, the FK variant—of which only 27 were built—traded trailerability for a permanent fin keel, aiming to provide a stiffer, more traditional sailing experience. Despite its narrow beam, mandated by highway width restrictions of the era, the boat manages a surprising amount of interior volume thanks to its flushdeck design and long waterline.
