The Outremer 452 represents the second generation of the shipyard’s most versatile length, succeeding the legendary Gérard Dansondesigned 45 that defined the brand’s early success. Launched in 2014 and designed by the renowned naval architecture firm BarreauNeuman, the 452 was tasked with a difficult duality: honoring the "fast, light, and simple" ethos of the original while providing the volume and ergonomics required by modern cruising families. This model serves as the entry point into the Outremer "performancecruising" lifestyle, sitting alongside its larger sibling, the Outremer 51, with which it shares significant design language and construction techniques. Unlike the firstgeneration 45, which featured very narrow hulls and limited bridgedeck clearance, the 452 utilizes more sophisticated hull flares to provide interior volume above the waterline without compromising the narrow, lowdrag profile below it. According to Multihulls World, this design evolution was specifically intended to maintain high average speeds in light air, a trait often lost in modern production catamarans.
