The Inferno 26 is a hallmark of the 1980s Scandinavian "performance cruiser" movement, designed by the prolific Swedish naval architect Håkan Södergren. Introduced in 1984 and built primarily in Finland by Oy Tallberg Ab and Tabasco Marine, the model was also marketed under the name Tabasco 26. It was conceived to bridge the gap between pure racing onedesigns and familyoriented coastal cruisers, offering a sleeker, faster alternative to the heavier displacement vessels common in the Baltic archipelagos at the time. With its distinctive Södergren profile—characterized by a lowslung coachroof and a balanced, narrow hull—the Inferno 26 remains a competitive choice in European club racing and a respected example of Finnish fiberglass craftsmanship from the late 20th century.
