The Hanse 311, launched in the early 2000s, represents a significant chapter in the evolution of Greifswald-based Hanse Yachts. Designed by the esteemed naval architecture firm Judel/Vrolijk & Co, the 311 was built upon the foundational success of the earlier 291 and 301 models, which were themselves refined developments of the Swedish Aphrodite 29. The 311 marked Hanse's transition toward a more modern, voluminous design while strictly adhering to the "easy sailing" philosophy championed by founder Michael Schmidt. The model was eventually succeeded by the Hanse 312, which utilized the same hull form but introduced an updated deck mold and more sophisticated interior finishes to appeal to a maturing market.
