The CS 27 stands as a classic representative of Canadian fiberglass boatbuilding, marking the moment Canadian Sailcraft transitioned from a regional builder of pocket cruisers into a premier manufacturer of seaworthy, productionline yachts. Launched in 1975 and built until 1983, this masthead sloop was the brainchild of Raymond Wall, the former chief designer of the prestigious British firm Camper & Nicholsons. Wall brought a distinct European sensibility and rigorous engineering standard to the Ontariobased builder. With approximately 480 hulls completed during its eightyear production run, the CS 27 achieved widespread popularity on the Great Lakes and along the Atlantic coast, offering a combination of robust build quality, standing headroom, and reliable inboard auxiliary power that was rare in the 27foot class.
