The C&C 27 Mk III represents the commercial and design zenith of one of North America’s most successful production runs. Built between 1974 and 1981, the Mk III was the third iteration of a hull originally penned by Robert Ball of the C&C Design Group. While the C&C 27 series eventually spanned five distinct "Marks," the Mk III is widely regarded by enthusiasts as the definitive version, balancing the classic lines of the early 1970s with significant performance upgrades. During its production years, C&C Yachts refined the build process at their NiagaraontheLake facility, producing nearly 500 units of the Mk III alone, contributing to a total series production exceeding 900 hulls. This model was instrumental in establishing the "performance cruiser" category, offering a vessel that was equally at home on a beercan race start line as it was on a weekend family cruise.
