When Australian naval architect Peter Cole drafted the lines for the Pawtucket 35 in the late 1970s, he approached the drawing board with a specific and challenging mandate. Cole, a veteran of levelrating designs, sought to deliver a competitive offshore racer that refused to compromise on speed, safety, or comfort. Launched in 1979 and built primarily by Comprador Marine in Sydney, the Pawtucket 35 fast became a darling of the Australian yachting scene.
