The Laser Vago XD is a performanceoriented, rotomolded sailing dinghy designed by Jo Richards and manufactured by LaserPerformance. Launched in 2005 as a modern solution for sailors transitioning from trainers like the Pico to highperformance skiffs, the Vago XD distinguishes itself through a "horsepower" focused sail plan. While the standard Vago utilizes Dacron sails for durability and ease of use, the XD (Extra Duty) variant features a larger 9.32squaremeter Mylar mainsail and a 13squaremeter asymmetric gennaker. The 4.2meter hull is constructed from a Polyethylene TriSkin foam sandwich, a material choice that SailWorld.com describes as virtually indestructible and significantly more maintenancefree than traditional fiberglass.
