The Gozzard 41 is a quintessential example of the "modern classic" philosophy championed by H. Ted Gozzard and his family-run shipyard in Goderich, Ontario. Positioned as a mid-to-large-sized cruiser within the Gozzard fleet, the 41 was designed to bridge the gap between the popular 36 and the flagship 44. Built by North Castle Marine, the vessel retains the signature aesthetic of the Gozzard line: a proud clipper bow, an integrated bowsprit, and a traditional taffrail, all masking a surprisingly contemporary underbody. Unlike the full-keel heavy displacement boats of the mid-20th century that inspired its look, the Gozzard 41 utilizes a modern fin keel and a balanced rudder protected by a substantial skeg, allowing for greater maneuverability and speed without sacrificing the directional stability required for blue-water passages.
