The Golden Shamrock 30 is a highpedigree International Offshore Rule (IOR) HalfTonner designed by Ron Holland and built by South Coast Boatyard (SCBY) in Cork, Ireland. Launched in the mid1970s, the model was the production realization of the legendary Silver Shamrock, which secured victory at the 1976 Half Ton Cup in Trieste. While many IOR designs of this era were viewed as fleeting "throwaway" racers, the Golden Shamrock was marketed as a "family racer" and proved robust enough to maintain a presence in the cruiserracer circuit decades after its competitive prime. The vessel is characterized by a high ballast ratio and a powerful, beamheavy hull typical of Holland’s early successes, making it a soughtafter model for sailors seeking vintage performance on a budget.
