Shopping for a used Bristol 32 means looking at a Ted Hood–drawn cruiser from Bristol Yachts, built from 1966 to 1983 with 322 hulls produced. She is a full-keel sloop of nearly 11,000 pounds, often described as the little sister to the Bristol 40, with the slender beam and overhangs of that classic lineage. Most boats on the used market will have been modified by decades of ownership, so the as-found configuration matters more than the original spec sheet.

The 32 was offered with two interior plans: a dinette to port and settee to starboard, or twin opposing settees. Steering may be wheel or tiller; wheel boats carry the mainsheet traveler ahead of the pedestal, tiller boats aft in the cockpit, and some owners moved it to the cabin top across the sea hood.

Check the hull-to-deck joint and the molded liner overhead, since interior furniture is tabbed to the hull for inspection but the liner is not.
