Introduced in 1965 by the O'Day Corporation of Fall River, Massachusetts, the Outlaw 26 was conceived as a robust, pocketcruising yacht capable of both family weekend adventures and competitive racing under the Midget Ocean Racing Club (M.O.R.C.) rule. Designed by the legendary Philip Rhodes, the Outlaw 26 was O'Day's largest model at the time of its release, showcasing a sleek, classic profile with a spoon bow, a raised transom, and clean, elegant lines. It served as a larger sibling to the Tempest 23 and competed directly with contemporary pocketcruisers of the era, such as the Pearson Ariel and the Albergdesigned designs from competing New England yards.
