The Nordborg 30 carries a fractional sloop rig, with 398 square feet of sail area on a 25.6-foot waterline. The jib and genoa sheets are about 29.5 feet long and 3/8-inch in diameter. The mainsheet is 73.7 feet of the same diameter, while the 3/8-inch spinnaker sheets are 64.8 feet long.

The Nordborg 30 was also sold as a home-completed kit, so construction quality varies from hull to hull. Some examples were finished by amateur builders, with inconsistent detailing.
