The Hinckley 43, designed by the esteemed naval architecture firm McCurdy & Rhodes, represents a highly refined chapter in the pedigree of Hinckley Yachts. Introduced in 1990, the model is a direct, semicustom evolution of the highly successful Sou’wester 42. Built by the craftsmen of Henry R. Hinckley & Company in Southwest Harbor, Maine, the design was originally marketed simply as the Hinckley 43, though it is often referred to as the Hinckley 43 (McCurdy & Rhodes) to distinguish it from unrelated Ted Hood designs of the late 1970s. With fewer than ten hulls completed over its limited production run, it remains an exceptionally rare and coveted bluewater cruiser.
