Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 Buyer's Guide
Shopping the brokerage market for a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 means looking at a model introduced in early 2024 as the successor to the Sun Odyssey 349, with ex-charter examples common and both two- and three-cabin layouts available. The boat's walk-around deck and twin-helm layout carry through every example, but equipment levels vary widely by original specification and later owner choice.
Layouts on the Used Market
Owner three-cabin layouts are the more common on the used market, but both are available. The two-cabin version converts the space aft of the heads to port into a vast cockpit locker lined with a wooden base and shelving, while the three-cabin version turns that same area into a shallow, sole-depth locker. Below, the companionway has three gently-sloping steps down to a saloon with a central drop-leaf table flanked by long settees, a portside head/shower compartment, and an L-shaped galley to starboard. The forward V-berth is accessed through a pair of swinging double doors on the twin-stateroom layout, with a large double berth aft to starboard and a generous stowage locker to port reachable from the cockpit or head. All berths are 2m long.
Equipment and Common Upgrades
A swim platform, autopilot, and chartplotter are commonly fitted to boats on the market. A bimini is often seen. Less common but present on some examples are heating, electric winches, cockpit shower, freezer, code zero, asymmetric spinnaker, teak decks, bow thruster, hot water, and dodger as owner upgrades or optional equipment. The Voyager package adds a spray hood/dodger, a removable inner forestay, and a coachroof solar panel with charging relay, while the Performance package brings a square-topped fully battened mainsail and dedicated sprit. Most owners will have opted for the tunnel bow thruster to keep the shallow forefoot under control.
What to Inspect
Documented known issues on the 350 are narrow but worth checking. The Alpi-wood veneers felt thin in period review, and corners without solid-wood mouldings could be vulnerable to wear — inspect joiner edges and locker corners for chipping or delamination. Testers found the mainsheet strops were a little too long and couldn't get quite enough leach tension to fully power up the main, so verify mainsheet geometry and traveller-substitute function under sail. The anchor locker chain well was made deeper than on the 349 to minimise chain pile-ups; confirm the deeper well and slope under the windlass are intact. The lifting keel option allows the boat to stay afloat in 1.2m of water, so any lifting-keel example deserves close inspection of the pivot and trunk for wear.
Availability and Buyer's Takeaway
These boats typically appear on the used market in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Netherlands, and Germany. When viewing a Sun Odyssey 350, check the joiner veneers and unmoulded corners for wear, confirm the mainsheet strops allow adequate leach tension, verify the anchor locker chain well depth, and if considering a lifting-keel version, inspect the keel trunk and pivot. Favour examples with the commonly fitted swim platform, autopilot, and chartplotter, and treat bow thruster, heating, and dodger as nice-to-have upgrades rather than expected kit.
