The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 steps into the footprint of the hugely successful Sun Odyssey 349, which Jeanneau built in over 2,500 examples across a twelveyear run, and carries the walkaround deck concept that first appeared on the Sun Odyssey 440 in 2018 into a smaller cruising hull. Unveiled at Düsseldorf in January 2024, the 350 is the latest evolution of the popular range, drawn by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group with interior styling from JeanMarc Piaton, and Cruising World's Boat of the Year panel named it Best Midsize Cruiser for 2025.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 Buyer's Guide

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350 entered the brokerage market as the successor to the long-running Sun Odyssey 349, with ex-charter examples common and both two- and three-cabin layouts available. Buyers shopping the used market will find a 2024-onward design carrying the walk-around deck first seen on the larger Sun Odyssey 440, drawn by Marc Lombard with Piaton interiors, and built by Jeanneau in France.

Layouts on the Used Market

Owner three-cabin versions are the more common on the used market, but two-cabin boats are also available. In the two-cabin arrangement the space aft of the heads to port becomes a vast cockpit locker lined with a wooden base and shelving, while the three-cabin version converts that area to a shallow sole-depth locker. Below, the companionway steps gently down to a saloon with a folding table for six, straight settees long enough for sea berths, and a portside head with separate shower. The three-cabin layout adds an aft cabin with a 160-centimetre-wide berth and outboard bin lockers. Ex-charter hulls often show heavier wear but bring the same beamy, chined hull and walk-through side decks.

Equipment and Common Upgrades

Most boats on the market carry a swim platform, autopilot, and chartplotter as standard-fitted gear, with a bimini often seen. A frequent owner upgrade cluster centers on sail handling and power: electric winches, a code zero on the moulded bowsprit, and an asymmetric spinnaker extend light-air range, while a bow thruster helps control the shallow forefoot in marinas. Comfort additions sometimes seen include cockpit shower, heating, hot water, and a freezer. The Voyager package brought a removable inner forestay for heavy weather and a coachroof solar panel with charging relay, and the Performance package added a square-top fully battened mainsail, dedicated sprit, and double-ended mainsheet; a dodger and teak decks appear on some boats.

What to Inspect

Used buyers should check the interior veneers: testers found the Alpi-wood surfaces thin and corners without solid-wood mouldings vulnerable to wear. On boats with the travelerless mainsheet, verify the strops are not over-long, since trial crews could not get enough leach tension to fully power the main with the supplied length. Confirm whether the helm carries the heavier stainless wheels or optional composite wheels, as the former felt heavy in testing. The deeper anchor chain well carried over from the 349 reduces pile-ups, but inspect the windlass slope and fairleads for line chafe.

Availability and Buyer's Takeaway

These boats turn up across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Netherlands, and Germany. For a used-market check, prioritize: confirm keel type (deep, shoal, or lifting) against intended cruising ground; verify two- versus three-cabin layout and locker depth; test helm weight and rudder feedback at low speed; inspect veneer edges and mainsheet strop length; and confirm presence of bow thruster, autopilot, and chartplotter against the common fitted tier.
