The Maxi 1200 represents a pivotal moment in the heritage of Swedish yacht building, marking a modern revival of the brand under the direction of the legendary Pelle Petterson in collaboration with renowned designer Tony Castro. Launched in 2014 and built at the Delphia Yachts facility in Poland, the 1200 was conceived to bridge the gap between traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship and contemporary Mediterraneaninfluenced performance cruising. While earlier Maxi models were strictly the work of Petterson, the 1200 was the first to feature an interior penned by Castro, resulting in a vessel that is as aesthetically "clean" as it is technically advanced. Constructed with vinylester resins and a PVC foam core, the hull is significantly stiffened by a carbonreinforced grid that handles the loads from the keel, rig, and chainplates—a detail highlighted during its debut at boot Düsseldorf.
