The LeComte 52, often referred to in classic racing circles as the Ocean Racer 52, represents the pinnacle of Adolf "Dolf" LeComte’s fruitful collaboration with the legendary American naval architect William H. Tripp Jr.. Launched in the mid1960s, this vessel was conceived during a transformative era of maritime design. This was a time when yacht architecture was actively shifting away from the heavy, fullkeeled traditions of the Cruising Club of America (CCA) era toward the sleeker, more performanceoriented underbodies that would soon define international offshore racing. Constructed at the acclaimed LeComteHolland yard in Vianen, Netherlands, the model was a showcase of Dutch shipwright artistry. Only three hulls of this highly exclusive design were ever built, making the model an incredibly rare, semicustom artifact of a golden age in yacht building.
