The Premier GC32 is a 32foot onedesign racing catamaran that began life as a conventional highperformance multihull and rapidly became one of the world's fastest racing yachts once its foil program matured. Conceived by Amsterdambased French businessman Laurent Lenne and designed by Dr Martin Fischer, the first boats went sailing in Dubai near builder Premier Composite Technologies toward the end of 2012, with three competing in the class's initial European season in 2013 and making its race debut at Allianz Traunsee Woche in Austria. Eight boats were built, and the design was aimed at both professional sailing teams and private owners looking to experience the latest in ultrahigh performance racing.

Premier GC32 Buyer's Guide

Shopping the brokerage market for a used Premier GC32 means looking at a 32-foot one-design foiling catamaran built from 2012 onward, with only eight examples in the class. These are pure racing machines aimed at both pro teams and private owners, and the used pool reflects that focused, small-series nature rather than a broad cruising constituency.

Layouts on the Used Market

Every GC32 on the used market is a one-design racing catamaran with carbon hulls, a rotating mast rig, and a bowsprit. There is no cruising interior to compare across listings — the boat is configured for speed and trailering, not liveaboard use. Buyers should expect the standard three-sail soft-sail inventory and the class-defined foil setup rather than owner-led layout variation.

Equipment and Common Upgrades

The single commonly fitted asymmetric sail beyond the standard inventory is a gennaker, which the class itself includes but which remains the headline optional downwind asset for private owners. There are no hydraulics on board; foil pitch on the rudder T-foil and J daggerboard is handled through a line-driven worm drive that can be adjusted during racing. For a buyer this means a simple, low-maintenance control system but one that demands manual trim discipline. The boat and rig transport on a custom open trailer or in a wheeled container, so a used purchase should be evaluated with its road-trailerable kit intact.

What to Inspect

The GC32's foils and rudders were built by Heol Composites and represent composites close to the limit of current build capability, so any used example warrants careful inspection of the T-shaped rudders and J-shaped main lifting foils for delamination or damage from grounding at the 2.10-meter board-down draft. The Mk2 foil package is the flying configuration; confirm the boat carries the later T and J foils rather than the original double-S and L-profile set. With no hydraulics, check the line-driven worm drive for wear, since foil pitch adjustment depends entirely on that manual system.

Availability and Buyer's Takeaway

The typical market for these boats is Spain. For a buyer, the short checklist is: verify Mk2 T/J foil set, inspect Heol Composites foils and rudders for damage, confirm trailer or container transport kit, and confirm the gennaker is part of the sail inventory. Given the tiny build number, patience and direct class or broker contacts in the Spanish market are the realistic path to acquisition.
