At a time when fiberglass production lines were beginning to dominate the marine industry with lighttomedium displacement hulls, Roberts took a different path, providing highly customizable plans that could be constructed in a backyard, a professional shop, or a semicustom yard. Crucially, the Roberts 36 must not be confused with the Roberts Spray 36.
