Buying a used Endeavour: prioritize condition over model, but know what era you're buying

Endeavour's boats were designed and priced to deliver interior volume and value rather than sailing performance — early hulls were built for coastal and blue-water cruisers who wanted durability and space over speed. That history cuts two ways for a used buyer. The upside is a genuinely roomy, comfortably laid-out cruising boat for the money; the downside is that decades-old systems and structure can eat into any price advantage fast. Which era to target

Endeavour's lineup splits along a real design line, not just size. The company's earliest boats were built for volume — simple, shoal-draft designs with large accommodations, prioritizing living space over how the boat handled to windward.
