The Trident Voyager 40 represents the pinnacle of the Portchesterbased builder’s commitment to bluewater cruising. Designed by the esteemed naval architect Bill Dixon, the Voyager 40 was conceived as a sophisticated, goanywhere deck saloon that offered a more modern hull form and increased volume over its predecessor, the Angus Primrosedesigned Voyager 35. While the 35foot range established the shipyard's reputation for ruggedness, the 40foot series—which includes the sisterhull Warrior 40 (a centercockpit version)—elevated the brand into the realm of highend, longdistance cruisers capable of handling both high latitudes and tropical crossings. Constructed primarily in the 1980s and 1990s, these vessels were built to Lloyd’s specifications, reflecting a "belt and braces" engineering philosophy that remains evident in surviving hulls today.
