The Malö 38 represents a pivotal era for the Orustbased shipyard, bridging the gap between traditional heavydisplacement cruisers and the more refined, modern aesthetics that would define the brand through the late 1990s. Designed by Leif Ängermark, the 38 was engineered as a robust offshore passagemaker, emphasizing a "safetyfirst" philosophy through its deep center cockpit and highballast ratio. Built between 1989 and 1994, it serves as a successor to the Malö 106 and a direct predecessor to the Malö 39, retaining the hallmark Targa arch that distinguishes the brand’s silhouette.
