The Islander 32 is a hallmark of the early 1960s fiberglass transition, representing Joseph McGlasson's successful translation of traditional wooden aesthetics into a productionfriendly medium. Originally produced by the Wayfarer Yacht Corporation, the design followed the success of the Islander 24 and quickly became a staple for coastal cruisers who valued a seaworthy hull over contemporary racing speed.
