The Fraser 41 stands as a hallmark of Pacific Northwest maritime engineering, representing the pinnacle of the Dekleer Brothers Industries’ fleet. Designed by Doug Cook in collaboration with the De Kleer family, this heavy-displacement cruiser was conceived to provide a stable, safe, and enduring platform for offshore voyaging. Produced in Richmond, British Columbia, during the 1970s and 1980s, the Fraser 41 followed the commercial success of the Fraser 30 but offered the increased waterline and volume necessary for true "blue water" ambitions. Because Dekleer Brothers frequently sold these vessels as kits—ranging from a bare hull and deck to a "sail-away" stage—the Fraser 41 is characterized by a high degree of individuality in its interior execution and deck hardware configurations. This model also shares its foundational DNA with the Fraser 42, which is essentially the same hull design featuring a modified transom or integrated swim platform to extend the waterline and facilitate easier boarding.
