Buying a used one means understanding its quirks alongside its virtues, and there are specific things worth putting on your survey checklist.

Layouts on the Used Market

The interior arrangement across the 382 family is consistent and practical: V-berths forward, a separate head with an enclosed shower, a main saloon with an L-shaped settee to port and a wider settee with a pilot berth to starboard, a workable nav station, and a galley aft in the port quarter — with a quarter berth opposite to starboard at the nav station. It is a layout that suits a couple living aboard or cruising with occasional guests, though the V-berth tends to run on the small side owing to the boat's fine entry.

The 383 variant brought a taller rig, while the 384 introduced a larger rudder, interior tweaks, and teak Dorade vents that addressed the persistent ventilation complaints from early owners.
