The Malö 34 represents a highwater mark of traditional Swedish yacht building from the legendary island of Orust. Designed by Bo Olsson and built by Malö Yachts between 1990 and 1996, only 40 hulls of this specific model were ever produced, making it a rare and highly soughtafter gem among discerning offshore cruisers. Malö designed the 34 to offer the same uncompromising seaworthiness, robust construction, and luxurious finish of its larger siblings in a package that is easily managed by a couple or a solo sailor. Positioned as a direct competitor to contemporary pocketcruisers from neighboring Orust yards, such as HallbergRassy and Najad, the Malö 34 distinguished itself with an incredibly overbuilt structure, an encapsulated lead keel, and the yard's signature fiberglass Targa arch. Below decks, the boat features handcrafted mahogany joinery finished in multiple layers of matte varnish, creating a warm, safe, and silent cabin designed to endure years of motion in a heavy seaway.
