The Comet 1050 represents a pivotal moment for Comar Yachts, bridging the gap between the experimental racingoriented designs of the 1970s and the sophisticated performancecruisers that would define the shipyard's output in the late 1980s and 1990s. Launched in 1983 and remaining in production until roughly 1990, the 1050 was a signature collaboration with Groupe Finot, whose influence is immediately recognizable in the vessel's sleek, lowprofile coachroof and generous beam carried well aft. With approximately 180 units produced, the 1050 became one of the most successful "middleweight" yachts in the Italian market, favored for its ability to balance the requirements of IOR (International Offshore Rule) era performance with the creature comforts demanded by the growing Mediterranean cruising class.
