Designed by the esteemed Christophe Barreau, the 411 was engineered to offer a balance of offshore capability and manageable shorthanded sailing. It serves as a direct evolution of the early Locke Crowtherdesigned models, incorporating more modern aesthetics and improved bridge deck clearance to mitigate slamming in heavy seas. Built during a period when Catana Group was solidifying its reputation for hightech construction, the 411 utilized vacuumbagged sandwich construction and Kevlar (Twaron) reinforcements in highstress areas, a technique that remains a hallmark of the builder’s commitment to safety and lightweight performance.
