The Megabyte is a highperformance singlehanded hiking dinghy designed specifically to provide a more comfortable and powerful platform for larger sailors who find the ubiquitous Laser too cramped or underpowered. Designed by Ian Bruce, the visionary behind the Laser, the Megabyte was conceived as a "modernized successor" that addresses the ergonomic limitations of 1970sera dinghy designs. Currently produced and distributed by Zim Sailing, the boat occupies a unique niche in the onedesign market, offering a sophisticated carbon fiber rig and a planing hull optimized for sailors in the 180 to 250pound range.
