The Irwin 27 holds a significant place in American maritime history as the vessel that launched Irwin Yacht and Marine Corporation in 1967. Designed by Ted Irwin, it was a pioneer in the transition toward fiberglass production boats that maximized interior volume without sacrificing the ability to explore shallow coastal waters.
