The Finnsailer 38 stands as the flagship of the fiberglass fleet produced by the Finnish industrial giant Fiskars during the 1970s. Designed by the renowned naval architect Angus Primrose, this vessel was conceived during an era when the "motorsailer" was evolving from a heavy, under-canvased workboat derivative into a sophisticated, all-weather cruising platform. Unlike many of its contemporaries that sacrificed sailing prowess for interior volume, the Finnsailer 38 utilized Primrose’s expertise in hull efficiency to create a boat that, while undeniably heavy and stable, could still handle a breeze with more grace than the typical "floating cottage."
