The Ovni 40, designed by the prolific Philippe Briand and built by the Alubat shipyard in Les Sables d’Olonne, represents the quintessential "goanywhere" bluewater cruiser. Launched as an evolution of the popular Ovni 385, the 40foot model refined the concept of the dériveur intégral—a fully lifting keel design that allows the boat to retract its board entirely into the hull. Constructed from 5083 H111 aluminum, the Ovni 40 is characterized by its rugged hardchine hull, a signature of the Alubat brand that provides both structural rigidity and significant initial stability.
