The Endeavour 28 stands as a definitive example of the Australian "pocket cruiser" era, representing a significant evolution in the portfolio of Sydneybased Endeavour Yachts. Designed by the collaborative team of Reg Gardner, John Bott, and Len Hedges, the 28 was introduced to provide a more substantial, seagoing alternative to the wildly successful Endeavour 24 and 26 models. While its smaller siblings were often viewed as entrylevel coastal boats or "poptop" weekenders, the Endeavour 28 was engineered with a more traditional coachroof and a hull profile capable of serious coastal passagemaking. Built between the late 1960s and early 1980s, the model benefited from Gardner’s commitment to robust fiberglass construction, a necessity for the demanding conditions of the Tasman Sea and the rugged Australian coastline.
