Introduced in 1974, the Alpa 7.4 represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of Danilo Cattadori’s legendary Italian shipyard, Alpa Yachts. Serving as a sophisticated bridge between the builder's early dinghyinspired racers and their later, more substantial bluewater cruisers, this 24foot pocket yacht was conceived during the height of the International Offshore Rule (IOR) era. Commissioned from the worldrenowned naval architecture firm Sparkman & Stephens, the Alpa 7.4 was designed to satisfy a demanding European market that wanted windward agility in the lighttomoderate air of the Mediterranean alongside actual accommodations for weekend family cruising.
