Buying a used Azuree: weighing an early hull against a later refinement

An Azuree isn't a single fixed product — it's a range that visibly matured over its production history, and that matters more for a used buyer than it would with a brand whose model line stayed stylistically flat. Yachting World's own testers noted that potential buyers were once wary of taking on a relatively new Turkish brand, a hesitation rooted in Sirena Marine's early years as a big industrial yard still finding its footing in yacht-grade finish work. What that means for a used-market buyer is less about the brand's country of origin and more about which point in that maturation curve a particular hull was built from — condition and era tell you more about an individual Azuree than the badge on the transom does.

Which era to target

The range splits along its two design generations. Giovanni Ceccarelli of Ceccarelli Yacht Design drew the original 40 and 33, hulls built by a yard still working out its production discipline; Rob Humphreys later took the 40's wide-aft-beam, hard-chine, twin-rudder hull concept and reworked it into the 46, and then the 41 arrived alongside the 46 as a further step rather than a replacement for the 40. A buyer targeting an early Ceccarelli-generation hull should expect the rougher edges that came with a young production yard still building out its finish quality; a later Humphreys-generation hull — the 46, or the 41 that followed it in 2016 — sits at the more settled, developed end of the range.

What to inspect across the range

One documented, era-specific issue is worth checking directly: Yachting World's test of the 41 recorded a water-drainage problem on the 46's deck, one that Sirena corrected at the 41's design stage. Any 46 built before that design change is worth a direct look at deck drainage during a survey, since it's the one recurring construction issue documented in the range rather than a one-off complaint.

Size, not just era, splits the lineup into two practical bands: a smaller cruising pair in the 33 and its 2015 customizable-interior 33C variant, and a larger pair in the 40, 46, and 41. Anyone drawn to the 33C specifically should know its selling point, per Sirena's own description, is fully customizable living areas rather than a different hull or size. The full model directory on this page breaks out LOA and year specifics for each.
