The Westerly Windrush 25 represents a pivotal chapter in the early history of fiberglass yacht construction, serving as one of the formative models produced by the British firm Westerly Marine Construction Ltd. during the mid1960s. Launched in 1966 as a more sophisticated evolution of the popular Westerly 22, the Windrush 25 was designed by the esteemed naval architect Maurice Griffiths, who was renowned for his "shoal draft" philosophy and the ability to design boats that punched well above their weight in terms of seaworthiness. With approximately 144 units produced between 1966 and 1968, the model helped establish the "Westerly look"—characterized by a high freeboard, a robust hull, and the signature bilge keel configuration that allowed the boat to stand upright on its own in tidal drying moorings.
