The Sunrider 25 occupies a distinctive niche in the history of British pocket cruisers, emerging in 1970 during the foundational years of fiberglass production. Designed by naval architect Leslie H. James, the Sunrider 25 was conceived as a robust, safe, and highly capable family cruiser. The hull moldings were laid up by the legendary Tyler Boat Company of Kent, renowned for their "bulletproof" heavy glass layups, while final fitting and marketing were handled by Searider Yachts of Poole, Dorset, and occasionally other boutique builders such as A. V. Robertson Ltd.. Sharing its DNA with the slightly earlier Searider 24—which utilized the same heavyduty workboatderived hull—the Sunrider 25 added a revised deck mold and superstructure to squeeze extra living volume and comfort from its compact 25foot footprint.
