The South Coast Eclipse 6.7, also known as the Northbridge Eclipse, represents the final chapter of South Coast Seacraft’s ambition to capture the American trailerable pocket cruiser market. Launched in 1978 and designed by the legendary naval architect Carl Alberg alongside South Coast’s design team, the boat was conceived as a modernized, highly refined successor to the incredibly successful South Coast 22. While the original model had seen a production run exceeding three thousand units, the industry by the late 1970s was shifting toward more voluminous, contemporary deck styles championed by competitors like Catalina and Chrysler. The Eclipse 6.7 was South Coast's answer to this evolution, retaining the proven hull dynamics of its predecessor but radically updating the deck, cockpit, and rig to create a far more competitive and liveable 22foot platform.
