Designed by Stephen Seaton, a naval architect who would later gain renown for substantial trawlers and passagemaking motor yachts, the Seaforth 24 was a deliberate departure from the lightweight, highperformance trailersailers of the late 1970s. Initially built by Capson Marine and subsequently produced by Precision Boat Works in Palmetto, Florida, this heavily built cruiser combined traditional, salty lines with a rugged build schedule designed to handle genuine coastal conditions. Characterized by its spooned bow, traditional transom, a small bowsprit, and a boomkin to support the backstay, the Seaforth 24 looks and behaves like a miniature cutter, attracting a devoted niche of sailors who value security, stability, and character over raw speed.
