The Pandora International is a classic 22foot pocket cruiser that represents a vital chapter in the history of British and European production yacht building. Introduced in 1973 by Rydgeway Marine of Lowestoft, Suffolk, the boat was the brainchild of the legendary Dutch naval architect E.G. van de Stadt. It was developed as a direct evolution of the Dutch Randmeer dayboat, which van de Stadt had iteratively developed through the Trotter and TrotterPandora designs to increase freeboard and interior volume for offshore viability. By the time Rydgeway Marine refined the tooling into the Pandora International, they had created a vessel that beautifully balanced the responsive handling of a racing dinghy with the seakeeping capabilities of a pocket passagemaker. Today, it remains highly regarded among classic yacht enthusiasts who value pure sailing characteristics over the bloated accommodation plans of modern trailersailers.
