The Cheoy Lee Offshore 32, a mid1970s fiberglass cruiser, represents a refined chapter in the shipyard’s "Offshore" lineage, transitioning from the more traditional Herreshoff and Luders designs toward the modern sensibilities of naval architect Ray Richards. Often distinguished from its predecessor, the Offshore 31, by its significantly greater beam and more voluminous hull, the Offshore 32 was built to rigorous standards in Hong Kong, featuring the shipyard's hallmark combination of a robust fiberglass layup and extensive, artisangrade teak joinery. While many Cheoy Lee models were defined by a "classic plastic" aesthetic, the Richardsdesigned 32 was engineered as a capable coastal and offshore passagemaker with a focus on interior volume and structural stiffness.
