The MarlowHunter 22, introduced in 2010 and continuing under the MarlowHunter brand following the company's 2012 acquisition, represents a significant engineering shift for the American builder’s smallboat division. Designed by naval architect Glenn Henderson, the model was specifically developed to replace the earlier Hunter 216, moving away from the "Advanced Composite Process" (ACP) thermoformed plastic in favor of traditional handlaid fiberglass. This transition, as noted by Sail Magazine, allowed for a more durable, stiffer hull that is easier to repair while maintaining the highvolume, userfriendly geometry that defined the previous generation. The boat is officially marketed as a versatile daysailer and weekender, built to accommodate up to five adults in its oversized cockpit while remaining light enough (approximately 1,700 lbs displacement) for easy trailering.
