Introduced at the London Boat Show in 2003, the Hunter Mystery 35 represents a striking departure from the highvolume, beamier production cruisers that dominated the early 21stcentury marine market. Penstroked by the acclaimed British naval architect Stephen Jones, this yacht was conceived as a "modern classic". Jones, an avid Folkboat owner, sought to blend the gorgeous, timeless lines of traditional midcentury timber yachts with the underwater efficiency and robust engineering of modern composite construction. While it shares a name with the Americanbuilt Hunters, the Mystery 35 belongs to a completely distinct European lineage. Originally built by British Hunter and later manufactured by Cornish Crabbers in Cornwall, England, this vessel is a purist’s cruiser, designed from the outset to reward active helmsmanship and deliver outstanding windward performance.
