The Contrast 400, designed by the prolific Rolf Magnusson and built by Contrastbåtar AB in Karlstad, Sweden, represents the pinnacle of the shipyard’s "performance cruiser" philosophy. Introduced in the mid1980s as the flagship of the fleet, the 400 was intended to offer a more voluminous and seaworthy platform than the earlier Contrast 36 and 362 models.
