Vanguard's Wisconsin years, from the 1967 Waukesha founding through the 1986 sale that moved production to Rhode Island, produced the company's Olympic-class core: the International 470, in full production by 1970, and the Finn, built to Joerg Bruder's specifications with Vanguard's own narrow-bow, flat-stern hybrid redesign and 45-degree fiber-aligned layup.
