"Mystery" names at least two very different boats, so on this brand the model designation and hull particulars matter more than the make itself. A listing badged "Mystery" could be a modern Bermudan-sloop cruiser from Cornish Crabbers or an entirely unrelated older boat that happens to share the name — treat the make as a starting point for research, not a guarantee of what you're buying.

Which era to target

Two real lineages sit inside the Mystery name, decades apart. The Mystery 30 and Mystery 35 are a modern pairing from Cornish Crabbers — Bermudan-sloop-rigged and deliberately different in character from the yard's gaff-rigged Classic and Shrimper boats, with the 30 designed by David Thomas and the 35 by Stephen Jones. The Mystery Class is a much older lineage from the 1930s, represented by the 39-foot Robert Clark-designed yacht Cereste — a design with nothing in common with the Cornish Crabbers boats beyond the name.
