The boat's original concept was retained but revised by Geoff Pearson and Bob Vinks, who later became mould owners. Bob Vinks himself was a former owner of Northshore Yachts. The builder, Northshore Yachts, known for its commitment to robust and adaptable yachts, produced the Northshore 38 as part of a range that included vessels from 31 to 46 feet.
