The Sandpiper 565 is a well-regarded small sailboat, known for its trailering capabilities and suitability for recreational cruising and overnight stays. Designed by the British-based Portuguese naval architect Leonardo da Costa Sayago, it was first built in 1972 by Sandpiper Marine Ltd. in England, and later by CL Sailboats (formerly C&L Boatworks) in Canada, as well as under license in Sweden as the OCKELBO OS 19. The boat has garnered a reputation as a high-quality, seaworthy classic that is particularly popular in eastern Canada and the Great Lakes region.
